Is Your Budget Helping You…or Just Sitting There?

‍ ‍

A budget is not just something you create once a year.

‍ ‍

It should be something you use.

‍ ‍

In QuickBooks Online, schools can enter their annual budget and then run a Budget vs. Actual report throughout the year.

‍ ‍

That report helps you see:

‍ ‍

What you planned to spend

‍ ‍

What you actually spent

‍ ‍

Where revenue is ahead or behind

‍ ‍

Where adjustments may be needed

‍ ‍

But this only works well when your chart of accounts aligns with how your budget is built.

‍ ‍

Otherwise, the report creates more confusion than clarity.

‍ ‍

A good budget does not restrict leadership.

‍ ‍

It supports leadership.

‍ ‍

Something to think about:

‍ ‍

When was the last time you compared your actual financial activity to your budget?

‍ ‍

If your budget exists but is not helping you make decisions, let’s talk: click here.
