Not Every Good Opportunity Is a Good Opportunity

Christian school leaders rarely suffer from a shortage of good ideas.

‍ ‍

A new program.

‍ ‍

A new fundraiser.

‍ ‍

A new position.

‍ ‍

A new facility.

‍ ‍

A new opportunity to serve families.

‍ ‍

The difficult part isn't identifying good opportunities.

‍ ‍

It's deciding which good opportunities deserve your resources.

‍ ‍

Every yes requires money, time, people and leadership capacity.

‍ ‍

Which means saying yes to one thing may require saying no to something else.

‍ ‍

Stewardship isn't simply asking:

‍ ‍

“Can we do this?”

‍ ‍

It's also asking:

‍ ‍

“Is this the best use of the resources God has entrusted to us right now?”

‍ ‍

Those are two very different questions.

‍ ‍

Something to think about:

‍ ‍

What are you currently saying yes to that may be keeping you from your most important priorities?

‍ ‍

If better financial information would help you evaluate those decisions, I'd love to help.
